Celebrate National Poetry Month with Valley Voices!  The Valley Voices Poetry Festival takes place Friday April 11 to Saturday April 12,  2025 in Kelowna. Everyone is welcome to attend free readings and join free workshops.  Use the menu above to browse the offerings and to register for the workshops.  Each year, April is the month to read, listen to, think with and be dazzled by poetry.  The League of Canadian Poets invites poets and readers across the country to celebrate National Poetry Month 2025 which is focussed on the theme of FAMILY in its many forms: found and chosen family, birth family, and family that defies categorization.

April 11- Kelowna: Kick-Off Reading Brianna Ferguson and UBCO Master of Fine Arts students (Alternator Gallery, 7 PM)

April 12- Kelowna (Downtown Library, 1380 Ellis St.)

  • Brown Bag Reading with Norah Bowman and jaz papadopoulos  (12 noon)

  • Free Poetry Workshops (10:15 -11:45 pm- registration required)

  • The Long Poem with Sharon Thesen and Klara Du Plessis  (1:30 - 3 PM)
